Arab Elementary School needs volunteers who want to make a difference in the life of a child. Mentors will spend 30 minutes each week encouraging students, helping them study for tests, and checking in on their progress. These partnerships with be coordinated through the school’s guidance counselor.  Mentors are needed during the hours of 7:45am-10:30am and 11:15am 12:45pm. Birmingham Canoe Club is seeking help for a riverway cleanup prior to their annual kayak races. The races take place on the mulberry river in Blount Springs. Cleanup will include brush removal, light building projects, and hanging slalom lines across the river. This outreach project will take place on February 24th from roughly 9am-3pm.
